Windy is the best app on the internet for weather information and more. It has so many more features than meets the eye. You can filter down to a level that is so precise that it will surprise you. Amazing functionality which is easy to use - detail available on the offline maps including minor trails and contour lines is incredible!

Offline Maps with Detailed Information

On my bike, I was navigating through Paris in the darkness of night with only Windy Maps to guide me in the pouring rain. It performed very well. Just that alone has it won my approval as the previous day I tried with Gmaps, covering the same area and it wasn't anywhere near as accurate. Thanks to Windy Maps, I reached my destination without any hassle.

Accurate GPS and Road Names

This is an excellent App when I can download maps for offline use. You can find where you are at any point, and it has road names when in towns, which is very helpful. Very good for tracking a route when walking. The GPS is very accurate, and once zoomed in, the map displays a lot of details.

Perfect Replacement for Viewranger

Fantastic app! Simple, fast, even better than Viewranger for my needs. I downloaded lots of hiking apps to replace Viewranger as it's being stopped and replaced by OutdoorActive which is a poor replacement. All of them were disappointing. Luckily I found Windy Maps. You can download offline maps to use the GPS when you have no signal. It has the pointer arrow that shows you which way you are going when you get lost.

Essential Resource for Hiking

Fantastic! Bare bones topo maps with trails. I've been looking for something like this for ages. I was able to download the entirety of North America. Windy Maps is a fantastic resource when you are hiking. It has saved me in darkness more than once. The only improvement needed is user feedback for paths that don't exist or are overgrown.

Detailed and User-Friendly

By far the best digital map app I've come across, the amount of detail is incredible, even when hiking in the mountains (but you should still take a paper map for the hills). Windy Maps is easy, simple, has all the basic features, tracks your route very nicely, and even has a few hidden features you have to poke around for.

It works quite well, overall. It would be great if the green direction box could be made smaller in a settings option. This would provide a more personalized user experience.

I tested Windy Maps for a week on holiday, and it gave me a better (and/or more) accurate map of the tracks to use than any of the others I've been using up to now. This is a keeper. I also like being able to have it tracing my routes. Even after a year of using it, Windy Maps remains my go-to map.
